Whatever style you choose, you will want to make sure that you choose wisely. The bride would be a good choice for asking which dress she approves of as well. Sometimes brides can be easily upset if things don’t match well or if your dress appears to outshine hers, so be careful.

The concept of a bridal shower has changed over the years. But as for me, my purpose of organizing one would be based on its original purpose, which is to help the bride prepare for her upcoming wedding and to make sure that the marriage will happen.

While gift giving is the main purpose of a bridal shower, still I want to organize a bridal shower that’s not boring to entice more visitors to come and show support for the upcoming BIG DAY for my best friend.

Charades
First game that I have in my list is the charade. In here, I will form 2 groups. A representative of each group will get a folded paper from a fishbowl then she will read it secretly then she will describe the word in the paper by acting it out and her team mates will try to guess it. I’ll make sure that the words to be guessed in the game will be related to weddings and marriage.

Clothespin Game
I have also read that the clothespin game is fun. As a guest arrives you will be placing a clothespin on their clothes and every time someone mentions the word bride the other gets to take her clothespin and the person who collected most numbers of the clothespin wins a price.

What is the queen wearing?
Doing the game “what is the queen wearing would be fun since the bride is the queen of the night so the attention goes to her. In here the bride will secretly leave the room and hide somewhere where she can still hear what the guests has to say about what she is wearing. When the bride is in the safe place the host will then start to ask chosen guests to describe what the bride is wearing that night from head to toe, from her hair tie to her shoes or sandals including her toe-nail polish. The person who is able to enumerate correctly almost all that the bride is wearing will receive the door prize.

The Wise Gives the Advice and the best Wishes
This last game on my list would be a perfect closing for the party. Each will give pieces of advice to the bride – advices about marriage, cooking, budgeting, finances etc, any piece of advice that can help the bride and the groom to have a happy married life. Then on the last part of their speech they will give their best wishes for the bride and the groom. Not everyone will have the chance to talk on the wedding day since the spotlight for talking is usually given to the VIPs like parents and other special people, so for the other guests, this will be their time to share their thoughts and ideas to the bride.

There are many games to choose from but for me these five games are the best ones for my bestfriend’s bridal shower.

The bridal shower may not be as important as the wedding day but little did you know that organizing parties like this especially for a friend or a sister means a lot to them. It does not only give emotional support but also lessens the tension that they feel towards entering a new world.

In organizing a bridal shower, it is very crucial to decide on the theme that best suits the bride or the couple. You have to make sure that the gifts or help that the couple will be receiving will assist them in this very crucial transition in their lives.

Kitchen Theme

The kitchen theme is good for those brides who love to cook. You can give kitchen-wares, ingredients for a recipe, recipe book, anything you can think of that is related to the kitchen. Giving this to someone who does not know how to cook would be a good idea too. This will encourage them to learn the art of cooking because according to most married women one of the best ways to their man’s heart is through their stomach.

Room theme

The Room theme is the theme that will help the couple in their needs in decorating the rooms of their house. This theme is best done by assigning a room from the couple’s house to the guests and have them buy gifts for that specific room that they are assigned to. In this theme also, you have to indicate in your invitation which room is the guest assigned to so that they will be able to know what gift to buy like for example aunt Mary is assigned in the bathroom so she will buy gifts that can be used in the bathroom.

Help a friend theme

This theme is commonly done by friends coming over to the couple’s new house and helping them with the decoration, renovation and even painting the house. They may bring gifts such as paint brush, hammer, nails, rags, throw-pillows and many others.

Winter/Holiday Season theme

As much as people become excited for the holidays, others also worry on its draining effects on our pockets. Money has been a long time problem for most couples and we don’t want the newly-weds to experience this financial pressure at this early stage of their marriage. So to help them with this, gifts for the holidays would be a good idea. Guests may give them ornaments or decorations that they may use in their house. You can also give them clothes with the same design, or boots which they can wear in attending holiday gatherings. If the wedding falls around the holiday season then the couple can use the decorations that were given to them to decorate the reception area on the wedding day.

These four themes are just some of the common ones. There is really no exact theme for every bridal shower. Anything will do as long as it will serve its purpose. To make the bridal shower unique and fun the organizer has to decide on a unique theme that best reflects the bride’s or the couple’s interest.
Always remember that the theme of the bridal shower is emphasized in the invitations, decorations and the mood of the party. The gifts and the venue do not necessarily have to be matched with the theme though.

While a bachelorette party is purely for fun, as for the activities you have to make sure that it will spare the bride from accidents that may stop her wedding day from coming. So the planning of the bachelorette party is done at least a month before the party.

Before the planning starts, you have to identify who are the people who would want to take part in the planning. Wedding day comes only once in a lifetime so many would want to take part on this pre-wedding activity and also many people consider a bachelorette party as the brides last shot towards singleness because she will be tying the knot soon. You can ask the bride for the list of the names of her friends that would want to help and don‘t forget to ask for their contact numbers.

To start the planning, determine whether the bride wants to have a conservative or a wild bachelorette party. Then you identify what are the things that you need and make a checklist of it to make sure that nothing will be forgotten. We want to make this party as special and memorable as it could so everything that we need must be there.

First thing on your checklist as a maid of honor is the venue. You have to identify where the party will take place. You also have to decide on how long will the party be and who will be the guests. Along with this, determine if the guests need transportation as well.

Next, you have to determine how much would each person contribute. With the contribution, you have to be practical since money is often the issue why most visitors would have second thoughts on attending the party. There are times that the bride is asked to pay just like the others but it would be best if the ladies will pay for the bride. Together with the money matters, plan out the decoration, food, gifts and prices for the games.

If you have all these planned out, send out the invitation at least 3 weeks before the event. Don’t forget to indicate the following information in your invitation: venue, the basic cost and when will be the collection of the contribution, who’s going to collect the money, what type of clothes will the ladies wear, transportation arrangements and what are the things that they need to bring if there is any. You may indicate the things that you still need because probably the other ladies can provide it so that you will no longer have to buy. Lastly, on the invitation, never forget to place the contact number of the person in-charge.

About 2 weeks before the party, confirm who will be attending the party. Also by this time you have to have all the things that you need for the event. Look into your checklist for the things that you lack so that you will still have time to acquire them.

A week before the event, send a reminder to the guests. Some people are just so busy with their life they often tend to forget things like parties so it is important to remind them. Also, inform the guests if there are any changes in the plan or venue so that they will not be surprised. Miscommunication often leads to misunderstanding that is why it is important to update the guests on the progress of the preparation.

The most important person in the bachelorette party is bride so make sure that everything you do and planned is approved by her. See to it that this last night of her single life will be a blast so that she will be ready to enter the new chapter in her life. If you have completed your checklist, never forget to pat yourself in the back for a job well done and for being a good friend.
